THE BIG YELLOW CHICKEN'S LESSON IN ATTRACTING YOUR TARGET MARKET

I heard a commercial on the radio the other day that reminded me of a very important marketing lesson for anyone or any business. The commercial went something like this:

Picture this.

While shopping, you are walking down the strip, enjoying your shopping trip and then you see a person handing out flyers on the corner. Quickly, you beeline it to the other side of the isle to avoid this awkward encounter.

Why will you do almost anything you can possibly do to avoid them?

On the other hand, while walking down the same strip you see a guy in a Big Yellow Chicken Suit handing out flyers on the corner.

But, this time you take it without worry. Hmmm?

No need for the chicken suit!

Use X service to get customers to you at the exact time that they are looking for you!

Chicken suit aside, the point of this ad was that the advertiser wanted businesses to hear the message that by advertising with them, they could attract the customers that were looking for them at the exact time that they needed their product or service.

Wow! Isn’t that what we all want? No matter the product or service that we are offering, we all want our target market customer delivered to us at the exact moment that they are looking for us.

Let’s go back to the example above. I know we have all done this. We see the guy or girl in the mall coming at us with their relentless pitch about their shampoo or stress reliever. I’ve even been approached by a guy while he was flying some kind of toy airplane around my head.

What good did that do? Really.

I tell you what it did- it made me never want to buy anything from him. And I won’t. Even if I was in the market for a toy airplane, I would go somewhere else.

What about the guy in the chicken suit? What is it about a guy in a chicken suit that makes this type of aggressive marketing just a little bit easier to take?

The chicken suit is nothing more than a tool to attract more of the right customers.

By putting on the chicken suit, the immediate confrontation is removed. There are still people that run away from the guy in the suit, but not most. It is basic human behavior to be repelled by this type of behavior. Human beings must make the decision themselves that they want something. We must decide what product we want to buy or what service we want to use.

When we take the flyer from the guy in the chicken suit, we don’t have to worry about warding off the aggressive promoter. We don’t have to look anyone in the eyes. There is no human interaction involved so more of us will take the flyers.

The most important reason that the chicken suit could work is because it could help ATTRACT targeted customers.

If someone is dressed in a chicken suit, they better hope that they are associated with a restaurant that serves chicken. Luckily, I haven’t seen anyone in a chicken suit that was not promoting a chicken joint.

The targeted customers are those that are looking to grab a bite to eat, now or in the future, that may want chicken.

Pretty simple idea, right? If you want customers that may want to eat chicken, do what you need to do to let as many of them know that you serve chicken and where your store is located.

So here’s the point. We don’t need to wear a chicken suit or any other type of suit to attract targeted customers. What we do need is to find a way to ATTRACT them to us.

Using attraction marketing techniques, the best way to ATTRACT customers to us is to be and expert on a particular subject and to provide valuable, useful information without the expectation of getting anything in return.

We must give without want.

Realtors should send newsletters or reports on market trends that will be valuable to their target market.

Accountants should provide tax advice newsletters or personal finance articles written to provide useful information to their target market.

Business owners should choose a specific topic related to their particular industry or specialty and provide special industry reports, mailers, press releases or articles to their target market.

By providing useful and valuable information to a target market who wants the information, credibility as an expert is established. Being an expert will ensure confidence in your abilities and will result in a successful marketing campaign.

WHY THE LAW OF ECONOMICS REQUIRES US TO PROVIDE USEFUL SERVICE

Some people that believe that riches can be accumulated by the simple act of organizing people into groups that demand more pay for the same of less service?

Some people are happy with annual raises or increases in comp plans for providing the same job or service you have always provided?

Some people enjoy receiving donations from the government?

Know this- no freedom can bring success in business without effort!

In a life-changing book that I reference often, Think and Grow Rich, famed author and motivator Napoleon Hill writes that the only way to accumulate and legally hold riches is by rendering useful service.

Hill writes that “no other system has ever been created by which men or women can legally acquire riches or success in business through mere force of numbers or without giving in return an equivalent value of one form or another.”

This theory, in which most of us have heard of, is the Law of Economics. He states that the Law of Economics is more than a theory- “it is a law no man can beat.”

Capitalism and the Law of Economics ensure that anyone has the opportunity to render useful service and to collect the riches in proportion to the value of that service.

The Law of Economics denies no one the right to acquire riches. However it does not tolerate getting without giving.

No court will try violators of the Law of Economics. No violator of the Law of Economics will be punished. In fact, everyone has the right to ignore the Law of Economics, in association, ignoring their right to earn riches or success in business.

The bottom line is this.

To be a success in business and to earn the riches that we desire, we must 1) be an expert at your particular field and 2) we must provide a useful service or product.

Simple, right? I hope so.

We must GIVE to GET! The level at which our service or product is requested will ensure our success, but we will not gain anything until we GIVE.

FIVE REASONS EVERY BUSINESS NEEDS A BLOG

As a business owner or professional, you must understand, and then incorporate blogging into your marketing plan. Here are five reasons why blogging is so important to your business:

1. Blogs are the easiest way to gain a presence online. With good content, you can easily create your brand image online. Blogs are easy to set up and simple to maintain.

2. You can get traffic from blogs for free. By blogging, you can obtain traffic from search engines, social marketing websites and other blogs without spending a ton of money.

3. You can use blogs to get better search engine results with your article marketing, press releases and videos.

4. Blogs are viewed as more credible sources than sales letters, ads, brochures and other types of direct marketing tools. The people reading your blog want to read it for its content, so they are less likely to be guarded or hesitant to act on your offer.

5. Blogs are interactive. They allow you to build your own community of loyal readers and contributors because of their dynamic social structure.

This next tip is essential to your success as a blogger. Please take this in or this entire article is a waste of your time and mine.

Remember, blogs are not personal advertising tools. The sole reason that people read blogs is because they want either information or entertainment. If you blatantly post advertisements and do not provide any type of valuable information or entertainment, your blog will not be successful. You may get traffic, but that is it.

Your goal with a blog is to deliver value and gain a loyal readership that you can attract into your marketing channel.

Blog with purpose. Attract targeted visitors and convert those visitors into leads by using these simple techniques.

Another key blogging tip is to write with personality. If you write like you are writing an English Composition paper, no one will want to read it. Be personable in your writing, like you are talking to someone. Make your readers want to come back to your blog because they are excited.

You will quickly learn that words are very important as well. Copywriting is another essential skill to learn if you want to be a superior blogger. Using the power of words to entertain and influence is what marketing is all about.

WHAT IS A BLOG, REALLY?

I am sure you have heard of blogging or blogs or heard other people talk about them. You may have even seen one or two online.

Before I started my attraction marketing campaign, I had been on a few blogs, but did not read any particular blogs regularly. I absolutely had no idea how powerful they were as marketing tools.

The word blog is short for weblog. Blogs are online publishing platforms that allow publishers or bloggers to create and post content in reverse chronological order.

With blogs, anyone or any business can have a presence online without knowing anything about websites or web design.

There are millions of bloggers who regularly publish content on various topics. You can literally blog about anything.

Some blogs are personal and do not have many readers, while others are about popular topics that have millions of readers each day. Some blogs actually make millions of dollars every month because they are so widely read. They have gained the regular attention of a large, target market segment.

Blogging gained its popularity in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s in the political arena. Businesses and individuals quickly learned that blogging was a new, creative way to market any product or service online.

There you go, blogging defined.

USING IMAGINATION TO CONNECT THE DOTS IN BUSINESS

Once again, I would like to share a very valuable lesson from Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich.

One of the things that all entrepreneurs have in common is the use of their imagination. Hill wrote, “…man can create anything which he can imagine.”

I want to give some specific examples of how imagination has given way to extraordinary business results and how we can do the same with online marketing.

Ruth Handler knew that her daughter loved playing with dolls. Her daughter also liked dressing cut-out paper dolls with cut-out paper clothing. With a bit of imagination and an idea, Ruth Handler invented a doll that looked like a real woman, with real clothes. Today, we know her as Barbie.

Jeff Bezos took the idea of a bookstore and combined it with the Internet to create Amazon.com.

Pierre Omidyar combined the idea of auctions with the Internet to produce eBay.

Mary Kay Ash merged the ideas of women running their own business and door-to-door sales to create Mary Kay Cosmetics.

Arthur Blank and Bernard Marcus combined the supermarket business model with hardware to form Home Depot.

Tom Stemberg and Leo Kahn used the same supermarket model and combined it with office supplies to form Staples.

Any of us can take a page from these entrepreneurs by challenging ourselves by using our imagination to create wealth. The Internet gives us an amazing opportunity to turn any business into success with online marketing.

HOW TO USE PRESS RELEASES TO GET FREE TRAFFIC

While new online marketing techniques are developed daily, I recently experienced the power of the online press release.

Press release marketing is particularly beneficial because you reap the rewards from doing work once for a long period of time.

With press releases, we get traffic from natural search engine listings and natural traffic. In other words, we write our press releases with certain key words and the search engines will list that press release on the search rankings. Many times they are listed at the top of the results.

We can also get traffic from the press release submission services themselves. If we have good content in our press release and are using strong keywords, the submission service may list our release on its site for other publishers to read, search for and use for their own promotions. This gives our press release massive exposure.

If FREE traffic sounds good, here’s how it is done.

In definition, a press release is an announcement or an explanation of a product or service.

Press releases are usually somewhere from a couple of paragraphs to a page and a half and should contain a link to your site at the bottom.

Press releases should be broken up into three parts: title, summary and body.

The first part of a press release is the title.

The title should grab the attention of the reader and qualify them as a targeted prospect for our message. We don’t want just anyone reading our press release. We want it to communicate directly with our target market.

The title needs to contain the major keywords that we want Google and the other search engines to index.

The second part of the press release is the summary. The summary is usually two to four sentences describing the overall announcement of the press release. It is similar to a headline in the newspaper. The summary must build on the title and keep the reader’s attention

The third part of a press release is the body. The body can range from two paragraphs to a page in length. The goal of the body of the press release is to give readers enough information about our product or service without giving too much detail, so that the only way for them to get the information they want from us is to go to our website.

At the end of the body of the press release, we must have a call to action. The call to action will send our targeted reader to our web site or capture page. We must simply direct the reader to our site. A good call to action is “You can download this report for free at www.whateveryourdomain.com” or “You can read more free information at www.whateveryourdomain.com”

Now that the release is complete, we must submit it to various submission services. Most press release services are free, however some are paid. We should experiment with both, but we can do it all for free. Not a bad option to have.

Throughout his motivational best-seller, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill encourages his readers to simulate many of the most prosperous people throughout history by truly believing in yourself and your purpose or business.

If you are reading this article, you have a bud of entrepreneurship or a desire to be successful.

In an effort to encourage anyone who is brave enough to pursue any form of entrepreneurship, I wanted to share this excerpted poem included in Hill’s amazing book.

ONLINE BUSINESS OWNERS' HEDGE AGAINST RISING GAS PRICES

Gas prices have recently soared to continued record highs, increasing the amount consumers pay at the pump and for other necessary goods, like food and utilities! Some truck drivers recently parked their trucks in protest in Washington D.C. and U.S. lawmakers are working to regulate oil prices.

It does not take a rocket scientist to realize that these higher prices make a direct impact on most people’s daily budget and have led to a need for cuts in personal spending and budgets. Some people are really struggling.

Others are not struggling as much.

There is a group of people that are hedged against rising gas prices and the incidental costs associated with higher gasoline costs. This group of people is home business owners. Home business owners have two distinct advantages in times of rising gas prices: mileage tax deductions and supplemental income.

Home business owners save a large percentage of their gasoline costs every year through the deduction of the business mileage from a personal vehicle. Marketing a home business allows a standard mileage deduction of 48.5 cents per mile in 2007 and 50.5 cents per mile in 2008.

Here is a quick example of the impact of a mileage deduction.


Bob spends $100 on gas a week, $5200 per year. Ouch!

He drives about 600 miles per week. If Bob has a small business and uses his personal vehicle for business 50% of the time and can prove it with documentation, 50% of his mileage is deductible at the end of the year.

If he drives 600 miles a week, he drives 31,200 miles per year. 50% of the 31,200 miles become tax deductible when using his automobile for business 50% of the time. In 2007, Bob would save approximately $7,566 on his gas expenses (31,200 miles / 2 * 48.5 cents per mile).

Quite a hedge on the rising fuel costs! Bob saves $7,566 from a mileage deduction alone. He spent $5,200 on gas, hypothetically.

The other advantage home business owners have is the simple fact that they are making a supplemental income. Some home business owners only work their home business, but a large group of home business owners run their home business while continuing another line of work. For those that run a home business in addition to another job, they simply have an additional stream of income to rely on in tight economical times.

Here are some important questions to consider if you are thinking about starting a home business or if you already have one?

How could a supplemental income help you?

Help you stay out of foreclosure?

Help you beat bankruptcy?

Help you pay off your car loan?

A few weeks ago, I wrote an article titled, “How to Market Like McDonald’s, Subway and Las Vegas”. Recently I found this article written about another great ad by Subway and I felt compelled to share it with you.

Apparently, Subway is making an effort to get back to its foot long roots with a special on its 12 inch sandwich, offering foot long subs for five dollars.

When reading this article, remember that Subway is not in the sandwich business, nor is it in the fool long business. Subway is in the healthy fast food business! Now we can get healthy fast food for five dollars and they have done it with a catchy new ad.

HOW TO MARKET ANY BUSINESS ONLINE WITH THE POWER OF POSITIONING

Whether you are marketing online or using traditional offline methods, it is very important to understand that the means of communication is not the most important factor in marketing. The angle that you take in your marketing is what will determine your success.

To be successful, the angle you must take is to sell yourself first. Position yourself as an expert and as a useful resource to your customers, consumers or partners.

Why do you want to be the expert?

You want to be the expert because everyone wants to work with the best. Everyone wants to work with the best real estate agent, the best doctor, the best financial planner, the best tax advisor. Everyone wants their kids to go to the best schools and have the best coaches, right?

Luckily, to position yourself as the best does not require you to actually be the best. Read this carefully. To position yourself as the best does not require you to actually be the best!

Wow! This is huge! You do not have to be the best online marketer or the best at your home business or be the best in your industry!

Being the best is simply a relative decision that stems from an opinion. It may be the opinion of your customers, consumers, partners or teammates. Since an opinion is what determines your expertise, you have the ability to form the opinions of those customers, consumers, partners or teammates.

So, how do you position yourself as an expert to help others form positive opinions of you and your expertise?


You must give without want!

To position yourself as the best, you must give without want! Giving without want simply means that you provide VALUABLE information freely without the expectation of getting something in return.

Here is an example showing how a local real estate agent in my area uses these techniques.

I recently received an email newsletter from a local real estate agent who, a couple of years ago sold an identical condo to one I had listed at the same time mine was listed. This agent sold the condo he had listed in less than a month. It took my agent over six months to sell mine. I don’t know if this agent’s marketing techniques are what allowed him to sell the other condo so quickly, but I would imagine that they probably did.

The newsletter was titled, “Market Trends: Your Monthly News for Real Estate News and Information”. The title of the newsletter immediately caught my attention because of the state of the real estate markets.

I have never done business with this agent, but I was very impressed with his newsletter. He focused on providing valuable information about the local real estate market. He included information about the number of homes being bought and sold in the area, the average sales prices compared to a year ago and an outlook on the market.

There were no sales pitches, or no special offers, just VALUABLE information about local real estate and his contact information.

This valuable newsletter provided information that anyone looking to buy or sell or anyone just interested in the local real estate would want. He provided VALUABLE information freely to his target market! By providing this valuable information, he is positioning himself as an expert in the local real estate industry.


I am not currently looking to buy or sell, but when others and I who want a real estate agent who know the local market, we will call this particular agent because he has established himself as an expert!

Other means of marketing that could be compared to this newsletter are articles, press releases and reports that provide VALUABLE information to a target market.

Possible subjects related to the real estate example could be, “The Best Kept Secret of the Local Real Estate Market”, “5 Things You Need to Know before You Buy Your Next Home” or “The 3 Biggest Mistakes Made When Buying Real Estate”.

Another important note to make is that it is essential not to plug your business up front, but to sell your business or service on the back end. Just like the newsletter from my local real estate agent, do not send newsletters or any other form of marketing promoting your business first. If he would have listed homes for sale or tried to solicit buyers, I would not have read the newsletter.

By authoring the newsletters that provide VALUABLE insider information about the local market up front, he has automatically positioned himself as an expert. On the back end, he provided his contact information for those with questions about his real estate business.

Even with traditional marketing, you would use these techniques. Provide valuable information in the form of direct mailers, postcards or free reports using the best means of communication for you, your business and your customers.

You can become an expert by providing VALUABLE information to help others who want the information you are providing- your target market. By helping others get the information they want, you will position yourself as an expert in your industry. By positioning yourself as an expert, you will become a success in your industry, profession or home business.

WHAT HOME BUSINESS OWNERS CAN LEARN FROM THE DESIRE OF AMERICA'S FOUNDING FATHERS

It is essential to understand the importance of making a DEFINITE DECISION to reach whatever it is that you DESIRE.

The hardest part of any business venture is complete once the DEFINITE DECISION is made to start a business for a specific reason. In his acclaimed book, Think and Grow Rich, revolutionary author Napoleon Hill introduced essential success principles learned from the study of and interaction with over 500 of the world’s most successful people.

In the book, Hill illustrates the significance of making a DEFINITE DECISION based on DESIRE in the story of the founding of the United States. Whether you are a U.S. citizen or not, it is important to understand that U.S. citizens are able to enjoy the freedoms and liberties granted to us today because two men were able to make a DEFINITE DECISION over 200 years ago!

As you read about America’s greatest DESICION, focus on understanding the value of making a DEFINITE DECISION to accomplish whatever it is you may DESIRE of a home business.

At the time this story begins, British soldiers had settled in Boston and roamed the streets daily. After an incident in which British soldiers attacked a group of Bostonian colonists in March of 1770, it was two Colonists, John Hancock and Samuel Adams, who made a DEFINITE DECISION to speak up and make a declaration to remove all British soldiers from Boston. By making this declaration, these men changed the course of history.


An assembly of prominent colonists led by Hancock and Adams was formed, resulting in the dismissal of British troops from Boston. Throughout the next couple of years, Adams envisioned and formed a correspondence committee that would allow the thirteen discontented Colonies to communicate more effectively in their unified efforts against the British.

Just as the Colonists were planning against the British in the early stages of the revolution, the British were planning to slow the opposition. In using fear to threaten Adams, the British Governor of Massachusetts sent a messenger to confront him. The messenger bribed Adams and ensured him that if he would discontinue his opposition of the British, he would no longer be punishable for treason and would receive personal advantages in siding with the King.

Adams’ response changed history. Rather than giving in to the pressures of the British, Adams responded with the following comment, “Then you may tell Governor Gage that I trust I have long since made my peace with the King of Kings. No personal consideration shall induce me to abandon the righteous cause of my Country. And, tell Governor Gage it is the advice of Samuel Adams to him, no longer to insult the feelings of an exasperated people.”

This is the conviction we need as entrepreneurs! Do not back down to resistance.

Upon receipt of this message, Governor Gage was furious. He ordered pardons to those who accepted the British position and a death warrant on Hancock and Adams. In a hurry, Hancock and Adams called a secret meeting that organized a congress of the Colonists. As an end result of this meeting, through the correspondence committee of the Colonies, the meeting of the First Continental Congress was held in Philadelphia on September 5, 1774.

At the same time, another leading colonist, Thomas Jefferson, was publishing a review of the colonist’s rights, which led him to be subject to treason of the British crown.


On June 7, 1776, Richard Henry Lee made the following motion to the assembly, “Gentlemen, I make the motion that these united Colonies are and of right ought to be free and independent states. That they be absolved from all allegiance of the British crown and that all political connection between them and the state of Great Britain is and ought to be totally dissolved.”

From Lee’s motion, debate followed for days. After becoming irritated with the constant debate, Lee made the following statement, “Mr. President, we have discussed this issue for days. It is the only course for us to follow. Why then, sir, do we longer delay? Why still deliberate? Let this happy day give birth to an American Republic. Let her arise, not to devastate and to conquer, but to reestablish the reign of peace and of law.”

Jefferson quickly sided with Lee and represented his cause while Lee left for a family emergency. Jefferson was appointed as the chairmen of a committee to draft a Declaration of Independence.

On July 4, 1776, Jefferson read the declaration to the assembly, “When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the Earth the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”

The declaration was signed by the fifty-six men of the assembly, each of them staking their lives on their signature. From this DECISION, a nation was born that allows us the ability to make similar DECISIONS today.

What do you DESIRE? What DESIRE do you have that will change your personal history?

Just as Samuel Adams and John Hancock made the DECISION that they wanted to be free, you too can free yourself from whatever it is that you DESIRE.

More money, more time with family, less stress, financial freedom or maybe just a supplemental income- whatever it is that you DESIRE, whatever the reason is that you are looking to make a change, the first step is the DEFINITE DECISION that you will do whatever it takes to accomplish your objective.

If you are looking for a home business or any other business opportunity, you are looking for a reason. The DECISIONS of Adams and Hancock have a made a huge impact on many people. Only by making similar decisions in your life will you be able to turn your desires into reality. You have the ability to become self-determining. You do not need to rely on someone else to tell you what to do or how to become successful. It is up to you to determine your DESIRE and make the DEFINITE DECISION to put your DESIRE into action!

HOW TO MARKET LIKE MCDONALD'S, SUBWAY AND LAS VEGAS

No matter what type of online business you run, marketing is an essential key to your success. Service businesses must sell the service or the experience of the individual providing the service through targeted marketing. Direct sales and network marketing professionals must sell the product they are representing, themselves as leaders and their marketing structure.

Attraction marketing establishes the business owner as a leader by providing valuable information and knowledge on a particular subject. By utilizing numerous online tools and resources, the business owner allows potential customers to get to know them and their business before they even speak. The business owner is able to establish trust with potential customers by passing along their specialized knowledge without the expectation for anything in return. Rather than focusing on calling leads or cold calling, utilizing attraction marketing techniques will have customers calling you ready to do business!

Here some real world examples of attraction marketing from my mentor, Mike Dillard, in his book Magnetic Sponsoring:

Let’s start with the always popular car business. Where do auto dealers and manufacturers make their money? Not with the cars they sell! Auto dealers and manufacturers make money on financing, car parts and service, insurance and extended warranties. Without the car, none of these items are available for sale.

Compare the car business with the description of attraction marketing above.

Why do we go to auto dealers when we are ready to buy a car? We go to them because they are the experts. We choose the dealership where we will by the car by getting to know them through personal visits or from the dealership’s marketing efforts. Then, we go to them ready to buy.

Once we buy the car, we must have it serviced on a regular basis, we may need a warranty and we will need to replace parts at some point. By selling the car, the dealership creates multiple streams of income for years at a time.

McDonald’s is another great example of a company that uses attraction marketing. McDonald’s is in the hamburger business, right? Nope! McDonald’s does not profit off of the cheap hamburgers they sell. Although the cheap hamburgers are what gets you in the door, McDonald’s has a higher profit margin on various other menu items, such as soda, fries, coffee, tea, cheese, etc.

We go to McDonald’s because we know what we can get, we can get it quickly and we will get it for cheap. They are the experts on beef and burgers and they deliver it the way we want it! Once we buy the hamburger, we must have the cheese on it, we must have the fries, and we must have the soda.

Subway is another large restaurant franchise that provides an interesting example of attraction marketing. Similar to McDonald’s, Subway gets us in the door by offering a much needed solution, healthy fast food. Subway is not in the sandwich business, it is in the weight loss business. We pay for a healthy sandwich at Subway because they are the experts in providing healthy sandwiches and then, like at McDonald’s, we must have the soda and must have the chips.

My last example of blatant attraction marketing is in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is in the gambling business, right? No. Las Vegas is in the entertainment business. Las Vegas offers amazing parties, exciting shows, big time restaurants and expensive hotels and entices us with its latest tagline: whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Like the above examples, Vegas does not directly market its biggest money-maker, gambling. Instead, it offers the best entertainment in the world to get you there and then allows you to gamble your heart out.

Now that you understand why the big boys do it, how about some other small business examples?

If you are in real estate, establish an attraction marketing campaign by producing a newsletter or articles about your local real estate climate to immediately demonstrate your expertise! Clients will start calling you for advice, allowing you to start building rapport and signing contracts.

If you are an insurance agent, begin by giving free insurance seminars or giving free advice via newsletters, online reports or press releases.

If you are a network marketer, provide your prospects with information on how to build a successful team of distributors by composing articles, newsletters and blogs describing the benefits of your business and how your marketing system works.

So what can we learn from the above examples?

To be successful in online marketing, you must learn how to utilize attraction marketing to establish yourself as an expert, earn the trust of your customers, then customers will call you with credit card in hand!

Again, no matter what type of business you are in or interested in, this method works. Establish yourself as the expert by providing useful information without the expectation of receiving something in return and you will gain the trust and following of many.

The Truth About "Overnight Success" in Network Marketing and Direct Sales

There is no such thing as overnight success in this or any other industry. For some reason, in networking, we are often led to believe that for less work, we can make more money!

The only people that seem to be overnight successes in this industry are those that transfer companies after spending years building their downlines elsewhere.

I recently heard a story of an individual that set a company record by reaching an executive leadership compensation level faster than anyone else in that particular company ever had. What an accomplishment, right?

Unfortunately, the success of this individual made other distributors in the company question their own accomplishments. It is only a natural psychological reaction to resent others when they achieve a certain level of success. We have all felt this way. The important thing to realize about this industry is that the scenario I just described is going to happen. Luckily, I am willing to tell you to expect it so you can be prepared when it does.

Again, this is not a get rich quick industry (unless you are a network marketer that has the ability to transfer a team to a new company!) The good news is that just like any other business, for hard work combined with organized planning, getting rich with your own business is definitely an option!

Esteemed author, Robert Kiyosaki, believes that Network Marketing or Direct Sales is the perfect business to work from home, part or full time.
